The revision of ISO 9001, originally expected in 2025, is now slated for release in 2026. This revision will focus on updates related to digital transformation, sustainability, enhanced risk management, and simplified processes for SMEs. The revised standard is expected to maintain the core structure of ISO 9001:2015 while clarifying specific requirements and incorporating new terminology and concepts.
It will be no surprise that sustainability has been added the the scope of the standard. At least this will mean these areas will be audited properly rather than the rather dubious self assessment questionnaire approach of Eco vadis and the like.
